Coastal Engineering
Socieconomic development in coastal regions is in many respects more rapid than elsewhere. The rapid growing interest and development has been the outcome of recognition of these regions as a means of providing ideal conditions for relatively cheap transport, food and mineral resource, petroleum, natural gas, agricultural and industrial development, housing and recreation. However, this rapid development has created a conflict between the dynamics of natural system and the human activities in coastal regions.
